Skype is beneficial for remote workers due to its business features, where you can schedule meetings directly on the application and invite contacts to participate. Although calls are audio-only by default, you can turn on the webcam to enable video calls and conferences. During calls and meetings, you can screen-share with other participants.

I have had not faced any crashing or downtime issues with Skype. We use it for exchanging files and texting employees centrally. Skype is an old horse in the communication platforms and is as strong as ever. The video calling and audio calling facilities are also amazing. Overall, it is a fantastic communication software.

We use skype for one to one video calling and group conferences, especially to connect with our work from home employees during COVID-19 times. It has brilliant image and sound quality, but consumes a lot of data.

Although there are benefits of using Skype as your full-time collaboration platform, there are certainly significant drawbacks. Such as limited or no access to emergency services, the lack of genuine face-to-face conversations, and language translation services when connecting with international clients.
