I think it helps to reveal the crucial points in the future. We tend to use RG to demonstrate our workload to others in the organization and can use it while working on a more detailed giant chart.

My favorite part about Resource Guru is that it is designed to work the way the real world works – people are allocated a certain percentage of time over a specific duration. If an end date changes, drag the end of the project bar to the new end date. Other tools made us update hours estimates to change end dates, which was a lot of useless busywork.
